The TBC prayer list is dedicated to the principle of the Biblical mandate for the saints of the local churches to intercede in prayer on the behalf of others. The apostle Paul sets the example by his apparent maintaining of a list to remind himself of things to ‘ make mention of ' when he prayed, ( I Thess.1:2-3). Therefore, suggested matters to make mention of through the function of intercessory prayer may include:

1. OPEN DOORS OF COMMUNICATION
“ Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. ” (Colossians 4:3-4)

A. Includes the priority of requesting the Pastor-Teacher's freedom to study and teach sound Bible doctrine through the grace processes of “double honor” which “unmuzzles the ox.” Principle: If the “Ox” is muzzled, no one gets bread. ( I Cor. 9:9)
B. Includes the priority of requesting the congregation's freedom to study and grow to the spiritual maturity status and receive the full benefits of the “abundant grace ” of God as fully educated “sons . ”
C. Includes the sacrifice of the assembly to open wide the doors of communication on a grace basis with the view to godly edification, knowing “ that all things work together for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose. ” (Romans 8:28)

2. GODLY EDIFYING OF THE SAINTS
- The apostle Paul sets the example of praying for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of godly sonship edification. (Eph. 1:15-23) Following his example, we should be about praying, not that God would take us out of our circumstances, but that we would receive the godly wisdom and understanding to view our lives from our Heavenly Father's viewpoint, and conduct ourselves with the power of sound Bible doctrine effectually working within our “inner man.” And in so doing we not only receive the power to endure our circumstances, but we also make the heavenly impact we are designed to be making on the angels, principalities, powers, mights, etc.
- Intelligent sonship prayer should reflect that of the apostle Paul in his prayer to the saints at Colosse: “...that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:” (Colossians 1:10-14)

3. GODLY PASTORAL LEADERSHIP
- Intelligent sonship prayer should include the saints praying for the pastoral leadership of the local assembly. (I Thessalonians 5:25) The apostle Paul requested such prayer be made for him and those pastors he installed --- “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.” (II Thessalonians 3:1-2) The prayers for the godly leadership of the one who fills the office of the pastor should have the desire as that of Paul to Timothy when he said, “...teach no other doctrine, neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.” (I Timothy 1:3-4) It is through the authoritative office of the pastor-teacher whereby the word of the Lord, in the local assembly will have its “free course,” the very life-line and centerpiece of the local assembly properly functioning as the “pillar and ground of the truth.”

NET OBJECTIVE:
•  That ye receive “the word of God ... not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.” ( 1 Thessalonians 2 :1 3 )

•  “ ... that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;”
(Colossians 1:9)

•  “And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,” (Ephesians 3:9,10)
